The Faculty of Medicine participated in enlivening the Festival of Berkain & Berkebaya with the theme “Weaving Heritage, Weaving the Future: Perpetuating and Preserving the Cultural Diversity of the Archipelago”. This event was organized by the Cultural Center – KUIKK Universitas Trisakti, held at the Multipurpose Hall of Building M, 12th floor, Campus A, Universitas Trisakti on Thursday, April 25, 2024. This festival is divided into three series of events, the Talk Show participants, Berkain Workshops, and the Fashion Show Presentation Competition.

The event began with an opening by the Rector of Universita Trisakti, Prof. Dr. Ir. Kadarsah Suryadi, DEA., followed by a group photo and Berkain workshops. The highlight of the event featured the Fashion Show Presentation Competition, themed on creative Berkain and casual Berkebaya for dynamic daily activities. The Faculty of Medicine itself presented two teams consisting of a team of lecturers and a team of students. The team of lecturers was represented by Dr. Hervi Wiranti, Sp.OG, and Dr. Ade Firmansah, SpKK, while the student team was represented by Maulana and Radela Maharani. On this occasion, the team of lecturers managed to achieve the 1st consolation prize.

Hopefully, this event can continue in the coming years, as a tangible form of preserving the cultural richness of the archipelago.
